Marnus Van Deventer
Managing Director

Welcome — and thanks for stopping by.I’m Marnus, the Managing Director of Trinity Training and the person responsible for turning safety training into something practical, memorable, and sometimes even enjoyable (yes… it’s possible).

About Me

A Company Built on Faith and Purpose

Before anything else, Trinity Training is built on Christian values.
The name “Trinity” isn’t just branding — it represents the Triune God, the foundation of my life and the principles I run this company on: integrity, compassion, service, and a genuine desire to help people protect themselves and others.

My faith influences how I teach, how I develop material, and how I treat every client. Safety training isn’t just a business to me — it’s a calling to equip people with the knowledge and confidence to preserve life.

How It All Began

I started Trinity Training after years of seeing workplaces struggle with safety — not from lack of care, but from training that was boring, overly technical, or completely disconnected from real-world situations. I wanted to build something different:
Practical. Clear. Engaging. Human.
And above all, something that reflects the values I believe in.

What I Do Around Here

As Managing Director, I handle a little bit of everything:

  • Course Development: From Basic First Aid to Working at Heights, Fire Fighting, Confined Space Entry, Scaffolding, Risk Assessment, Emergency Preparedness, and advanced medical modules — if it prevents injuries, I’m involved.

  • Instructor: I bring experience, humour, and a hands-on approach to every class. Learning is serious — but that doesn’t mean it has to be miserable.

  • Safety Consultant: Helping companies understand legislation, comply with the OHS Act, and keep their teams safe without drowning in paperwork.

  • Scenario Designer: Including emergency plans, community defense plans, and realistic drills that make people think, act, and prepare.

  • Occasional Comedian: Mostly unintentional, but appreciated during long training days.

My Training Philosophy

I believe people learn best when:

  • The training is realistic

  • The explanations are simple

  • The instructor is human

  • The environment is welcoming

  • The content is practical

  • And yes — when laughter is allowed

My goal is always the same:
To send people home more capable, more confident, and more prepared than when they arrived.

Outside the Classroom

Faith is at the centre of my life — but when I’m not developing training material or teaching, you’ll likely find me:

  • Making music (loud or soft depends on the day)

  • Enjoying the peaceful focus of bow hunting

  • Practicing pistol shooting

  • Testing rescue gear because “it might make a good demonstration”

  • Or working on the next training book, manual, or course idea

These hobbies keep me grounded, focused, and connected — and occasionally supply some great stories for class.

Why Work With Me?

If you’re looking for safety training that is:

  • Smart, structured, and detailed

  • Rooted in real-world experience

  • Built on Christian values

  • Delivered with authenticity and a bit of humour

  • And focused on developing competence rather than just passing assessments…

Then you’re in the right place.

Let’s Connect

Whether you’re an individual wanting to grow your skills, a company building a safer workplace, or a community needing support, I’m here to help.

At Trinity Training, we build confidence, capability, and a culture of safety — one course at a time.
