Intermediate First Aid builds on foundational first aid skills and prepares learners to provide structured, risk-based emergency care in the workplace. This course focuses on recognizing hazards, managing emergency scenes, and applying higher-level assessment and intervention techniques for adults, children, and infants. Learners develop the confidence to respond effectively to occupational injuries, sudden illnesses, and life-threatening events using current international first aid protocols.

Principles of Primary Emergency Care
- Aims of emergency care, personal safety, universal precautions, legal considerations (duty of care, consent, negligence), and infection control.
Preparedness for Workplace Emergencies
- Contents, inspection, and maintenance of first aid kits; first aid readiness; emergency equipment.
Emergency Scene Assessment & Management
- Scene safety, hazard control, primary & secondary assessment, golden hour concept, emergency procedures, triage, and incident reporting.
Primary Emergency Life Support
- Adult/child/infant choking management, rescue breathing, and one-rescuer CPR according to accepted protocols.
Bleeding & Shock Management
- Identification and control of bleeding using pressure, bandaging, elevation, and shock recognition and treatment.
Secondary Assessment & Workplace Injury Care
- Full head-to-toe assessment, vital signs, mechanisms of injury, managing fractures, wounds, environmental injuries, and workplace-specific risks.
Incident Recording & Legal Documentation
